Firefighting in Murça progressed favorably: “Yield to the means”

Miguel Fonseca stated that the two fronts of the fire were “burning with low intensity and yielding to the resources.”

The commander noted that no village is at risk.

The fire began around 2:30 PM in an area of shrubland in Carva, within the Union of Parishes of Carva and Vilares, a location with difficult access. The strong and variable winds complicated the efforts to combat the blaze.

At the time of Miguel Fonseca’s communication, weather conditions were favorable.

On site, there are 232 personnel and 63 vehicles, according to Miguel Fonseca.

During the afternoon, 14 aerial units were deployed in this operation.
