The municipalities most affected by electrical outages caused by fires today included Mêda, Vila Flor, Sernancelhe, Penedono, Moimenta da Beira, Arganil, Oliveira do Hospital, Pinhel, Torre de Moncorvo, Trancoso, Lousã, Góis, Pampilhosa da Serra, Mogadouro, and Freixo de Espada à Cinta.
Throughout the day, the number of customers affected by outages reached 20,000, but by 10:00 PM, the situation was “in the process of normalization, with about 8,000 customers still without power in the aforementioned locations,” stated E-Redes. The company is deploying around 150 workers who, “in close collaboration” with the Civil Protection Agency, “are working to restore electrical supply whenever conditions allow.”
E-Redes emphasized that the closure of some roads “has hindered teams’ access to certain areas,” creating challenges in resolving some outages.
The same source added that E-Redes teams and partners will remain on the ground “to assess the damage in burnt areas and restore the network when it is safe to do so.”
