“At this moment, we are quite concerned,” stated Miguel Albuquerque, referring to the possibility that the firefighting helicopter, scheduled from July 1, may not arrive in the region as planned.
This was one of the issues Miguel Albuquerque discussed with Prime Minister Luís Montenegro on Thursday, during the inauguration of the Republic Government in Lisbon.
The official spoke to journalists on the sidelines of the opening of the Quinhentista Market in the Machico municipality, an event that usually attracts thousands of tourists and locals, ending on Sunday.
Albuquerque justified the concern due to “an interruption in the government management” and the inauguration of a new Minister of Internal Administration, Maria Lúcia Amaral.
“The new official still needs to become acquainted with the matters, and we need to resume discussions. At the moment, it is very important for us to uphold the commitment that was made,” he emphasized.
“But these are the objective circumstances of having changed the Government, and I want to resolve this situation as quickly as possible,” he indicated.
