The reactivation occurred in a scrub area, with the fire burning intensely, but not threatening nearby villages. Reinforcements were deployed to the scene.
According to the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection’s (ANEPC) website, by 17:00, 111 personnel, 26 vehicles, and eight aircraft were mobilized for the fire.
The blaze began at 14:30 on Friday in the parish union of Carva and Vilares, spread to Asnela, and then branched toward Perafita and Fiolhoso at the mountain peak.
The fire was brought under control on Saturday but reignited early that afternoon, before being under control again by Saturday night.
It was declared resolved earlier today, monitored, but experienced another flare-up by 16:00.
