“The village is protected, and we have resources at work,” he said, noting that this situation still causes some concern.
The other front, facing Perafita, in the municipality of Alijó, is burning with moderate intensity in an area with difficult access.
The fire broke out at 2:30 PM in Carva, moved to the area of Asnela, and then on the mountain ridge split towards Perafita and Fiolhoso.
During the afternoon, the wind hampered efforts, with 14 aerial resources being mobilized for this incident.
According to the website of the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection (ANEPC), 275 firefighters with 84 vehicles were fighting the fire at midnight.
