The deadline for submitting applications to the BUPi 2022 Awards ended on January 31, and in all, 93 applications were submitted by 47 municipalities and three Intermunicipal Communities (CIM).

The BUPi Awards, promoted by the Mission Structure for the Expansion of the Simplified Cadastral Information System (eBUPi), aim to highlight, through the awarding of prizes in different categories, those who have contributed most to the development of the Single Property Desk (BUPi) project by 2022.
For all the categories in the competition, applications were received, with the most competitive being 31 submitted for the “Proximity” category, followed by 17 for the “Best Practices” category, and 13 initiatives for the “Communication” and “Geographic Information Systems” categories.
The categories “Productivity” and “Citizen First” do not depend on applications, being automatically awarded the prizes to the municipalities, skilled technicians and CIM that stood out in number of georeferenced matrices. The “BUPi Grand Prize” will be awarded to the municipality that stood out most in the various dimensions of the project during the year.
The applications will now be analyzed by the jury, and the awards will be delivered on March 15, during the BUPi Annual Meeting.
In addition to distinguishing those who stood out most in the BUPi community, the BUPi Awards also aim to create a space for sharing knowledge and best practices in the different dimensions of the project, as well as to foster continuous improvement and innovation practices.
The BUPi is present in 143 of the 153 municipalities that do not have a land registry. More than 870 qualified technicians registered in the BUPi platform collaborate daily with the project. More than 170 thousand Portuguese citizens have already identified, free of charge and with no increase in taxes, more than one million properties.
