Gonçalo Matias addressed the parliamentary committee on State Reform and Local Power during a regular hearing.
“We consider the first phase of the State reform complete,” he declared, noting that conditions are now set to move forward with the next phase.
Gonçalo Matias highlighted that the ministry is currently collaborating with all government ministries, affirming that all these reforms “will be completed by the end of the first half” of next year.
“We are already advancing in various level two plans,” he said, citing examples like customer service at Citizens’ Shops.
“We are restructuring public service,” reiterated the Deputy Minister of State Reform.
During his speech, the official emphasized the creation of ARTE – the Agency for Technological Reform, which has cross-cutting responsibilities across the entire Public Administration.
Regarding the appointment of Manuel Dias as CTO (Chief Information Officer of Public Administration Systems and Technologies) of ARTE (formerly AMA – Agency for Administrative Modernization), the minister praised him, stating that he “widely” fulfills the sought profile, mastering technology and possessing in-depth knowledge of Public Administration.
