According to a statement from the police sent to Lusa agency, a crime prevention and combat operation was conducted on Monday between 17:00 and 21:00, resulting in the identification of 30 suspects, including 25 men and five women.
Besides the four individuals arrested, aged between 20 and 30, a 45-year-old woman was also detained on an arrest warrant for “serving a prison sentence for theft offenses,” confirmed the PSP.
“After the police procedures were completed, the detainee was transported to Santa Cruz do Bispo prison [located in Matosinhos, Porto district], where she will serve her sentence of two years and three months,” it stated.
The statement further detailed that nearly four thousand doses of drugs were seized during the operation, primarily amphetamines and hashish (1,947 and 1,406 individual doses, respectively), along with 422 doses of cannabis and 155 of cocaine.
The operation, which gathered various police units—including Criminal Investigation, Rapid Intervention and Inspection, Immediate Prevention and Reaction, K-9 Units, and the Foreigners’ and Border Control Division—also resulted in the seizure of 4,414 euros in cash and a moped.
“The Coimbra District Command of the PSP regularly conducts these types of operations in different locations within its jurisdiction, enhancing the public’s sense of security,” the statement emphasized.
