The SNS website had indicated on Friday that the obstetric emergency at Hospital de Portimão would be open; however, this service is now closed. For Hospital de Vila Franca de Xira, the website had shown that the pediatric emergency would be closed today, but it is currently operating under a referral model.
Regarding the referral emergencies, which only accept cases directed by the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) or the SNS 24 line, the portal shows that the obstetrics and gynecology emergency services at Hospital Amadora/Sintra are operating from 8:00 AM to midnight, at Vila Franca de Xira from midnight to 9:00 PM, and at Hospital de Santo André in Leiria from midnight to midnight.
Pediatric emergencies at Vila Franca de Xira and Hospital Beatriz Ângelo in Loures are operating under referral from midnight to midnight, while those at Barreiro are from 8:00 PM to midnight.
Health authorities are urging the public to contact the SNS24 line (808 24 24 24) to receive appropriate guidance before heading to an emergency department.
