The islands of Flores and Corvo, in the Azores, will be under yellow warning from Tuesday afternoon, due to forecasts of rain at times heavy, announced today the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).

According to the IPMA weather warning, the yellow warning for the two islands of the Western group of the archipelago will be in force between 18:00 local time (19:00 in Lisbon) and 24:00 on Tuesday.

During that period the forecasts point to “precipitation, sometimes strong, and may be accompanied by thunderstorms”, says the institute.

The yellow warning is issued by IPMA whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities dependent on the weather situation.
