The municipality has announced that on the 14th of this month, the proposals submitted as part of the international public tender for the construction of a new facility serving approximately 42,000 users will be unveiled.
This project will receive a contribution of around 5 million euros from the Recovery and Resilience Plan.
The new health center in Barcelos will include 32 medical offices, 20 nursing offices, as well as rooms for trainees, technical offices, treatment rooms, waiting areas, and reception and administration spaces.
The building will feature three floors above ground level and two below.
The upper floors will house the healthcare equipment and services, while the two underground floors will be designated for parking, offering space for about 140 vehicles, in addition to 50 more spaces outside.
Besides the building, the project includes a new plaza that will facilitate the transition between the cemetery area and the new residential zone to the north, improving part of the network of public spaces.
Simultaneously, it will develop a seating area with a green space to serve both the health center and the anticipated new residential area in the nearby surroundings.
The project was presented today to the Secretary of State for Health Management, Cristina Vaz Tomé, with whom the municipality discussed the need to increase the investment contribution.
