A 31-year-old foreign national was arrested on Sunday on charges of coercion and sexual harassment, related to incidents that occurred in September of last year at the Trofa train station.
In one of the cases, detailed by the Judicial Police (PJ) in a statement, the suspect allegedly approached two youths, one of whom was a minor, subjecting them to “sexual acts and invitations to engage in sexual practices,” thereby harassing the victims and infringing on their “sexual freedom.”
The two young individuals reported the incident immediately after it happened, allowing authorities to discover prior cases of similar nature at the same location.
Subsequently, the police increased security measures through the “detention of the suspect” and his “subsequent identification.”
Throughout the investigation, evidence collected allowed the PJ to “strongly implicate the suspect in the illegal activities,” leading to his arrest “outside of immediate offense,” which was carried out over the past weekend.
The individual has already undergone an initial judicial interrogation and is currently subject to non-custodial preventive measures.
