The Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command of Alto Alentejo reported that the fire was brought under control at 2:58 PM.
The alert for the fire, which erupted at Monte do Cantarinho in the Union of Parishes of Benavila and Valongo, was issued at 12:39 PM, with no injuries or damage to homes recorded.
The fire consumed an area of scrub and forest, including cork trees and eucalyptus.
According to the regional command, 133 personnel were involved in firefighting efforts, supported by 40 vehicles and five aerial units.
