The young Portuguese woman who had been reported missing in London, United Kingdom, has been found alive.
Through social media, the family of Patrícia Araújo, a resident of Ashford, revealed that the young woman from Aveiro has been found and is hospitalized.
“I would like to inform you that my daughter Patrícia has been found. She is well, although she is in the hospital,” wrote her mother, Ana Araújo, on Facebook, thanking everyone for their support.
Filipa Araújo, the young woman’s sister, wrote that Patrícia had been hospitalized “without serious injuries” for “two days.”
It should be noted that the young woman had disappeared on Sunday while participating in the Notting Hill Carnival celebrations in the British capital.
The young woman’s mobile phone was found by a DJ on Sunday, who only put the device on charge on Tuesday, at which point he called Patrícia’s cousin.
The family contacted the London authorities and was informed that they would have to wait until Wednesday to file a missing person report. On that day, family members went to the capital, where they distributed flyers at train and bus stations and multiplied their appeals on social media.
