The Polícia de Segurança Pública (PSP) conducted a police operation in the early hours of July 3 in the Greater Lisbon area as part of an investigation into crimes of human trafficking, pimping, aiding illegal immigration, and drug trafficking, resulting in the arrest of four individuals.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the PSP reported that, via the Criminal Investigation Division, various searches, both residential and otherwise, were carried out in the Greater Lisbon area at 2 a.m. on July 3.
According to the PSP, the actions are related to an investigation coordinated by the Central Department of Investigation and Penal Action, involving crimes of human trafficking, pimping, aiding illegal immigration, and drug trafficking.
The operation, named ‘Operation à la carte,’ concluded around 10:30 a.m. and resulted in the arrest of two men and two women. Also seized during the operation were various narcotics, including cocaine, hashish, and synthetic drugs, more than 100,000 euros in cash, various computer equipment, six high-end vehicles, a motorcycle, a jet ski, and various luxury items such as watches, jewelry, goldsmith articles, and clothing.
The arrested individuals were brought before a judicial inquiry on Friday, with two being remanded into custody and the others subjected to periodic reporting and various prohibitions.
