Four individuals have been arrested and one identified on suspicion of ticket scalping for the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira, which takes place this Thursday at the Estádio do Algarve.
The arrests were made in a nationwide operation conducted by the Food and Economic Security Authority (ASAE), targeting illegal practices, particularly speculation and irregular ticket sales, according to a statement released to the media.
Authorities initiated five criminal proceedings for speculation and seized ten tickets, with face values of 20 and 30 euros, being sold at significantly higher prices—some reaching 200 euros—resulting in undue economic advantages and illicit profits for those involved.
All suspects have been subjected to terms of identity and residence obligations and notified to appear before judicial authorities.
ASAE has also announced provisional suspension decisions of the proceedings for four months, conditional upon the payment of an injunction ranging from 250 to 400 euros.
The entity reiterated its commitment to upholding legality and fair competition, ensuring consumer safety and protecting the rights of legitimate economic operators.
