
A 56-year-old suspect was arrested in Olhão at around 6:30 a.m. while in possession of cocaine, hashish, and a significant amount of cash, according to the PSP, in a statement from the Faro District Command. The suspect was also found with a firearm.
Following the arrest, a search of the suspect’s home led to the seizure of 6,633 individual doses of cocaine, 1,572 doses of hashish, 17,500 euros, a sawed-off shotgun, four 12-gauge cartridges matching the weapon, along with two digital scales and various articles used for drug preparation and dosage.
In a separate incident in Lagos, on Wednesday, the local Criminal Investigation Brigade detained a 49-year-old suspect involved in drug trafficking while selling drugs in public.
The subsequent house search resulted in the confiscation of 503 doses of heroin, 1,293 doses of hashish, 364 doses of marijuana, 80 doses of ecstasy, and 1,925 euros in cash.
Additionally, in Portimão, PSP officers arrested two other men, aged 21 and 27, from whom approximately two dozen doses of hashish were seized.
The arrested individuals are scheduled to appear in court for their first judicial interrogation and to learn about any preventive measures applied, the PSP noted.
