Four inland districts with orange warning until Saturday due to the heat

The IPMA has announced that an orange weather warning will remain in effect until 6:00 PM on Saturday for four districts in the northern and central interior, where maximum temperatures are expected to range between 34°C and 39°C.

A yellow warning, the least severe on a three-level scale, has also been extended until 6:00 PM on Saturday for the districts of Viana do Castelo, Braga, Porto, Aveiro, Castelo Branco, Portalegre, Évora, and Beja due to persistently high maximum temperatures.

While the district of Coimbra is currently not under a yellow warning, it will be reactivated on Saturday, lasting until 6:00 PM.

The remaining districts in mainland Portugal are not under any warnings.

Mainland Portugal has been on alert since Sunday due to the high risk of wildfires.

The IPMA forecasts a slight drop in maximum temperatures today, particularly along the northern and central coast, with a minor increase expected in the Algarve. Minimum temperatures are also expected to decrease.
