A fire alert was triggered at 6:44 a.m. on Rua do Alvelhe, as reported by the Oliveira de Azeméis Volunteer Firefighters.
No injuries were recorded, although the family, consisting of a couple and their two adult children, was inside the house when the fire broke out.
The firefighters’ commander confirmed the residence, a detached house, is now uninhabitable, with the cause of the fire still unknown.
A source from the regional command of the Porto Metropolitan Area stated that the residents are temporarily staying with relatives.
Nine personnel were at the scene, supported by one ambulance and two fire fighting vehicles.
