
The 14 men, aged between 23 and 61, were arrested on Friday in the municipalities of Santo Tirso, Trofa, and Vila do Conde as part of a special criminal prevention operation, the National Republican Guard (GNR) stated in a communiqué.
Eight of the men were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, two for drug trafficking, one for driving without a legal license, one for disobedience, one for possessing a prohibited weapon, and another for illegal private security activity.
The operation, which involved road and nightlife establishment inspections, also led to the seizure of 397 doses of cannabis, six doses of cocaine, and various objects related to drug trafficking and production.
During the operation, six administrative offense reports were issued for drug use and 29 for road-related offenses.
The detainees were made official suspects, and the cases have been forwarded to the Judicial Courts of Santo Tirso, Maia, and Matosinhos.
