
Miranda do Douro, Mogadouro, and Freixo de Espada à Cinta in the Guarda district, as well as Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, Fornos de Algodres, Pinhel, and Almeida, have been placed under a maximum fire risk warning by the IPMA.
The Viseu district faces maximum fire risk in the municipalities of São João da Pesqueira, Penedono, Sernancelhe, Moimenta da Beira, Mangualde, Armamar, and Tabuaço.
Additionally, around 60 municipalities in the districts of Bragança, Vila Real, Viseu, Guarda, Castelo Branco, Santarém, and Faro have been classified under a very high risk of rural fire.
The fire danger level, as determined by IPMA, comprises five ranks ranging from reduced to maximum. This assessment is based on air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, and the amount of precipitation in the past 24 hours.
The forecast for today predicts very cloudy skies with periods of rain or showers, sometimes heavy and possibly accompanied by thunder in the Minho area from mid-morning to mid-afternoon.
Winds will be light to moderate (up to 30 km/h) from the south/southwest, occasionally strong (up to 40 km/h) along the northern coast in the morning, and moderate to strong (30 to 50 km/h) in highlands with gusts up to 70 km/h from mid-morning to mid-afternoon.
Meteorological predictions indicate fog or mist in some places, particularly from late afternoon, along with a pronounced decrease in maximum temperature, especially in Minho and Douro Litoral.
Maximum temperatures are expected to range between 19 degrees Celsius in Viana do Castelo, Braga, Guarda, and Viseu, and up to 30 in Beja.
