The next edition of the Portuguese Comic Con is scheduled for April 23-26 at Europarque in Santa Maria da Feira, despite earlier announcements stating the pop culture convention would take place in March 2026 at Exponor in Matosinhos (Porto).
Without providing additional details, the organization revealed on September 4 that the 11th edition of Comic Con in Santa Maria da Feira would mark the start “of a strategic partnership planned for the next three editions.” Tickets previously purchased for Comic Con at Exponor in Matosinhos will be valid for the new date and location.
One of the first guests announced today for Comic Con 2026 is 68-year-old American author Frank Miller, seen as one of the most influential figures in international comics, particularly for characters such as Daredevil and Batman, as well as the “Sin City” series.
According to the organizers, Frank Miller is “the master who defined the tone of modern comics” and will be participating in discussions about “his creative process and the industry revolution,” alongside “opportunities for direct audience interaction” through sessions and autograph signings.
Daniel Henriques, the Portuguese artist who has been working in comics with American publishers like Marvel, Image, Dark Horse, and DC Comics for over a decade, will also be in Santa Maria da Feira.
He has worked on titles such as Spawn, Gunslinger Spawn, King Spawn, Aquaman, Justice League, Green Arrow, Mortal Kombat X, Batman Arkham Knight, SuperGirl, Detective Comics, and Shadow War Alpha.
Daniel Henriques maintains a collaboration with Frank Miller on the character of the legendary warrior Ronin, through a publishing company Miller established in 2022.
Comic Con Portugal was first held in 2014 at Exponor in Matosinhos but has also taken place in Oeiras and Lisbon. The event will now be hosted in Santa Maria da Feira for the 2026, 2028, and 2030 editions.
