The Minister of Environment, Maria da Graça Carvalho, introduced the E-Lar program on Tuesday, allowing families to exchange gas appliances for more efficient ones. In practice, citizens request a voucher, which is then exchanged for the equipment. The government’s support is paid directly to suppliers, so beneficiaries do not have to front money or wait for reimbursements.
More vulnerable families can receive up to 1,683 euros, while others may receive up to 1,100 euros. The program aims to reach 30,000 families.

In the Draft Bill of labor law reform, the government proposes to revoke point 7 of Article 166 of the Labor Code, which states: “In cases where the contracted activity is, by the way it integrates into the functioning of the company and considering the resources it has, compatible with the telework regime, the agreement proposal made by the employee can only be refused by the employer in writing and with an indication of the reason for the refusal.”

The ACT notes that there is a “duty for the employer: to refrain from contacting the employee during the rest period, except in cases of force majeure.”
