Fuels are cheaper (but not much). Check out what happened

The forecasts from last Friday indicated that fuel prices would decrease this week. Notícias ao Minuto analyzed the figures and found that, although lower, the reduction in fuel prices was not as significant as expected.

For instance, the price of standard diesel fell from 1.608 euros per liter to 1.599 euros per liter between Friday and Monday, marking a decrease of approximately 1 cent per liter.

Meanwhile, the price of standard 95 gasoline decreased from 1.690 euros per liter to 1.689 euros per liter in the same period, representing a reduction of less than 0.05 cents per liter, according to the data updated this Tuesday by the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology (DGEG).

It is worth recalling that, according to data from the Portuguese Automobile Club, gasoline was expected to decrease by 0.5 cents and diesel by 1.5 cents per liter.

It should be noted that daily average prices are “determined based on prices communicated by fuel stations, weighted by the quantities sold in the last known period, incorporating the discounts offered at service stations such as fleet cards and others,” according to information provided on the Online Fuel Prices portal, which collects data from 2,884 stations.
