Portuguese drivers have reason to breathe a sigh of relief today. After two weeks of consistent increases, fuel prices are expected to slightly decrease.
The Automóvel Club Português (ACP) forecasted on Friday that the price of gasoline is set to drop by 0.5 cents, while diesel will decrease by 1.5 cents per liter.
These predictions are made based on the assumption that the government’s extraordinary tax reduction measures will continue to be applied to mitigate the price increases. The current measures include the reduction of the Imposto sobre Produtos Petrolíferos (ISP) and the compensation of the additional VAT revenue.
