The Fundão City Council, in the district of Castelo Branco, expressed its condolences following the death of former Minister of Justice Álvaro Laborinho Lúcio on Thursday. Lúcio served as a public prosecutor in the municipality.
“As a public prosecutor in Fundão, his significant contributions to the cultural, social, and civic life of our city are notable. Laborinho Lúcio often mentioned this place as where he found his sense of citizenship,” the council stated.
According to the council, the former government official had “strong ties to Fundão” and “participated in various initiatives” there.
The Municipality of Fundão extends heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of this distinguished national citizen, who was always a friend to the people of Fundão, it added.
