A partnership agreement between the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia, located in the district of Porto, and the festival promoter has been unanimously approved during a municipal executive meeting.

In the submitted proposal, accessed by Lusa, the municipality emphasizes that in recent years the festival has achieved “enormous and growing success,” attracting not only local residents but also visitors from across the country and around the world.

This, the proposal adds, has significantly contributed to promoting Vila Nova de Gaia and boosting its economic activities, particularly in the hospitality and restaurant sectors, thus representing a “manifest municipal interest.”

“The execution of this festival, consistently supported by the municipality, reflects the spirit with which the local government fosters cultural, social, and tourism dynamism in Vila Nova de Gaia, notably by collaborating for a high-quality media spectacle,” it states.

The Marés Vivas festival, scheduled from July 18 to 20 at the former Madalena campsite in Vila Nova de Gaia, has already announced performances by the Scorpions, Xutos e Pontapés, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Miguel Araújo and Os Quatro e Meia, Pedro Sampaio, Calema, and Ozuna.
