
The alert was raised around 10:00 a.m., with Gondomar firefighters being the first to arrive on the scene. By that time, students, teachers, and staff had already evacuated the school, resulting in no injuries, as confirmed by the Areosa – Rio Tinto fire department, which also responded to the incident.
The situation was resolved by 12:38 p.m., although a fire engine from Areosa – Rio Tinto remained outside the school as a precaution.
At 3:50 p.m., technicians from the gas supply company were still inspecting the equipment at the school.
Due to the necessary inspections, classes were advised not to resume.
