
The PJ apprehended a man and a woman on Monday intercepted on a 14-meter sailboat traveling from Latin America to Europe.
The vessel was detected and intercepted by the Air Force and Navy in open waters, subsequently brought to Ponta Delgada port in the Azores, arriving this morning.
Following searches, the two foreign crew members, a 58-year-old man and a 66-year-old woman, were arrested in flagrante delicto.
The arrests occurred under operation “Albus,” targeting the international maritime drug trafficking, with collaboration and information exchange among authorities from various countries, including the United States, Germany, and France, stated the Polícia Judiciária.
