At 21, young woman gathered photos of her as a child and asks authorities for help

A young German woman is causing a buzz on social media by presenting herself as Madeleine McCann, the girl who disappeared 16 years ago in Portugal. In a video on Instagram, the German woman posted a video with supposed evidence that she is the missing girl and asks the authorities for help with a DNA test.

Madeleine has been missing since 2007, when she was only three years old. The little girl was in an apartment the family had rented in Praia da Luz, in Portugal, when she disappeared without a trace.

On the Internet, the young woman, who identifies herself as “@iammadeleinemcann,” said that “a comment” from her grandmother comparing her to Madeleine made her think about the possibility. In addition, the woman sends a message to the girl’s parents.

“Help me, I need to talk to Kate and Gerry McCann I think I might be Madeleine. I need a DNA test,” she says in the video shared on the networks.

Without substantiation, the German woman even released photos from when she was a child, showing supposed “similarities” to the victim.
