The beginning of the next week will bring unfavorable news for drivers nationwide, as both diesel and gasoline prices are set to increase.
Industry sources, as noted by the Automóvel Club de Portugal (ACP), indicate that diesel prices are expected to rise by between 1.5 and 2 cents, while gasoline will see a 4-cent increase.
According to the Direção Geral de Energia e Geologia (DGEG), the average price per liter of diesel in Portugal last Friday (March 28) was 1.581 euros, while gasoline was priced at 1.71 euros.
“It can still be observed that, compared to August 1, 2024, current prices reflect a 2.1-cent increase in diesel and a 0.6-cent decrease in gasoline,” remarked the ACP.
Thus, “if next week’s forecasts are confirmed, the average price of simple diesel should be between 1.596 and 1.601 €/l, while simple 95 gasoline is expected to rise to 1.75 €/l.”
