The president of the most representative association of GNR soldiers, César Nogueira, expressed disappointment with the proposals presented by Minister Maria Lúcia Amaral, stating, “We conveyed to the minister that what was presented is insufficient. Despite the APG’s board still needing to meet, the gathering will be to decide on forms of protest.”
The minister presented an initial government proposal to the five socio-professional associations of the Republican National Guard. This proposal includes an immediate review of remunerated services, while other changes, such as those regarding health and occupational safety regulations, career and remuneration statutes, and the evaluation system, lack specific implementation dates.
The minister also announced that the special service supplement, earmarked for military personnel in criminal investigation and special units, will be increased by 2.15% in January 2026. This raise equates to an increase of between three and seven euros monthly, depending on the roles, according to the associations.
