Three minors aged 17 and a 19-year-old were arrested for committing multiple robberies in Almada, in the Setúbal district. A 15-year-old was also identified by authorities for robbery.
A statement sent Friday to Notícias ao Minuto by the Guarda Nacional Republicana (GNR) notes the arrests and identification occurred following a three-month investigation linked to various robberies during the Charneca da Caparica annual festivities.
According to the statement, GNR officers conducted police procedures that gathered sufficient evidence to implicate the older suspects in four completed robberies and four attempted robberies.
“It was also discovered that the individuals acted as a group, using physical aggression to carry out their crimes”, the report states.
The suspects were brought before the Almada Judicial Court for a preliminary judicial hearing and were subjected to weekly reporting measures and ordered to stay away from the victims.
