In a statement marking another phase of the “RoadPol” operation focused on alcohol and narcotics, the GNR reported that it inspected 1,705,756 drivers between January and November 30.
This operation aims to promote safer driving and reduce severe road accidents across mainland national territory.
“Driving under the influence of alcohol or psychoactive substances is a risk factor that has been the subject of increasing attention in European road safety policies,” stated the GNR.
Roadpol, of which GNR is a member and national representative, is an organization established by European traffic police forces to enhance road safety and enforce legislation.
According to the GNR statement, these operations aim to “create a safer road environment by simultaneously addressing the main causes of accidents and encouraging road users to adopt safer behaviors.”
