
The Setúbal Territorial Command of GNR announced that a suspect was detained on Sunday in Alvalade, within the municipality of Santiago do Cacém, during a road inspection operation.
The GNR reported that the Territorial Post Officers in Alvalade stopped a vehicle with a driver exhibiting suspicious behavior. Police efforts led to the discovery of “209 grams of hashish and two grams of cocaine” hidden inside the vehicle.
A subsequent house search resulted in the suspect’s arrest and the seizure of 749.30 doses of cocaine, 588 doses of hashish, and a vehicle used in the criminal activity.
Additionally, the operation seized four cutting knives, a precision scale, three drug storage/packaging bags, and 2,401 euros in cash, it was noted.
A source from the Setúbal Territorial Command of GNR informed Lusa agency that the detainee will be presented today at the Judicial Court of Setúbal for the application of appropriate coercive measures.
The operation was supported by the Criminal Investigation Nucleus (NIC) of the Territorial Detachment of Santiago do Cacém.
