
The GNR announced today that an arrest was made on Wednesday by the Núcleo de Investigação Criminal (NIC) of Palmela in the Setúbal district, along with the charging of two individuals, a 32-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man, as defendants.
The police explained that in the context of an investigation into “multiple thefts committed in that municipality,” officers were able to “identify and arrest the suspect in the act.”
“During the operation, two house search warrants were also executed, which led to the charging of two suspects for the crime of receiving stolen goods,” and the seizure of various materials, the statement reads.
The items seized include 455 liters of diesel, 108 kilograms of cork, a firearm, 97 cartridges, 29 rounds of ammunition, 17 construction tools, a vehicle, copper and aluminum cables, and notes of diesel transactions, according to the GNR.
The arrested individual appeared before the Setúbal District Court and was released, with the imposition of a weekly reporting obligation at the local police station of residence.
