The arrests took place in the municipalities of Oliveira de Azeméis, Santa Maria da Feira, Vila Nova de Gaia, Espinho, and Porto, according to a statement from the National Republican Guard (GNR).
As part of an investigation related to drug trafficking, which had been ongoing for about a year, the Guard’s officers dismantled a criminal network engaged in drug trafficking operating in the northern region of the Aveiro district and Vila Nova de Gaia.
During the operation, five arrest warrants and 17 search warrants were executed — 14 in homes and three in vehicles — resulting in the arrest of nine suspects and the seizure of 8,158.7 doses of hashish, 26.5 of cannabis, 228 of cocaine, 48.75 of crack, and 2.1 of MDMA.
Equipment for drug cutting, packaging, and storage was also seized, along with €4,569 in cash.
