Eight British tourists have been identified by the National Republican Guard (GNR) in Albufeira, Algarve.
After being filmed naked in broad daylight in a bar area last weekend, the Guard identified them “out of the blue” earlier this week.
Speaking to SIC, which reported the news, the municipality stressed that it had asked nightlife entrepreneurs to tighten their controls.

“It’s illogical that we’ve made a strategy, it’s illogical that we’re spending money on promotion only for cases like this to happen, which are deeply negative and don’t dignify anyone,” said José Rolo, mayor of Albufeira, in statements to the channel.
The municipality says that nightlife will always be important for Albufeira, but admits to changing the opening hours of bars and calls on business owners to take action.
The municipal executive will also request a meeting with the Minister of Internal Affairs to ask for increased policing in the city.
