The National Republican Guard (GNR) reported that up to Tuesday, provisional data recorded 4,005 road accidents involving two-wheel vehicles, resulting in 67 deaths, 333 serious injuries, and 2,898 minor injuries.
Last year, the GNR documented 7,741 road accidents involving two-wheel vehicles, resulting in 118 deaths, 695 serious injuries, and 5,531 minor injuries.
The GNR stated that this year’s operation aims to prevent road accidents, ensure traffic flow, and support road users.
The operation also seeks to raise awareness about the “dangers of reckless driving of motorcycles and two-wheel mopeds, as well as the importance of using protective equipment, such as helmets, appropriate clothing, and footwear.”
