An incident involving an assault occurred on Saturday at approximately 7:30 PM on a public roadway in Vaiamonte, within the Portalegre district, authorities disclosed to Lusa.
The injured party was initially taken to Portalegre Hospital and later transferred to São José Hospital in Lisbon.
When officers from the GNR arrived at the scene following a 112 emergency call, the man, who had multiple abrasions and bruises, was already receiving medical attention, according to a GNR source.
The alleged attackers have not yet been identified, and the security forces are continuing their investigation into the incident.
The Lusa news agency contacted the Alto Alentejo Local Health Unit today but was unable to obtain additional information about the victim’s condition.
