If you’re planning to fill up your tank, it might be best to do so today as fuel prices are expected to rise tomorrow, Monday.
The Automobile Club of Portugal (ACP) predicted on Friday that the price of diesel would increase by 2 cents and gasoline by 1.5 cents.
As of Friday, the average price of diesel in Portugal was 1.697 euros per liter, while gasoline averaged 1.547 euros per liter.
If these forecasts are confirmed for the following week, the average price of standard diesel is expected to rise to 1.717 euros per liter, while the price of 95 octane unleaded gasoline will increase to 1.562 euros per liter.
The ACP stated that these forecasts assume the continuation of extraordinary fiscal reduction measures applied by the government to mitigate price increases.
These measures include the reduction of the Tax on Petroleum Products (ISP) and compensation for additional VAT revenue.
