Gold reaches all-time highs above $3,200 per ounce

At 4:30 a.m. Lisbon time, gold reached $3,220.08 (€2,855.69), according to data compiled by Bloomberg, surpassing two records set on Thursday, the latest of which was $3,175.83 (€2,815.82).

Previously, the last peak the yellow metal achieved was on April 3, after U.S. President Donald Trump announced the imposition of tariffs on nearly every country in the world.

By 6:00 a.m. today, gold had risen slightly less, up 1% to $3,208.73 (€2,844.19).

Since January 1, gold, an asset considered a safe haven in times of uncertainty, has seen its value increase by more than 21% after closing the first quarter as the best start to the year since 1974.
