The government approved a draft law to implement Regulation (EU) 2022/2065, concerning a single market for digital services, as announced in a statement from the Council of Ministers.
This legislation sets out, on one hand, common duties for digital service providers and, on the other, establishes rules to combat the spread of illegal content.
To prevent fragmentation of responsibilities and simplify identification and interaction, there will be only one competent authority for digital services, concentrating these responsibilities within the National Communications Authority — ANACOM, the statement added. It further noted that the powers of this authority and the model for cooperation with judicial authorities and other relevant administrative entities are specified.
