The government has initiated an increase in economic activity audits, driven by the “exponential rise in economic activity and purchase volume,” as stated in a recent announcement.
“This enhancement in supervising economic activity will target both digital and physical commerce,” emphasized the announcement.
According to the government, the “aim is to ensure consumer protection and safety while fostering fair trade and securing regular economic activity.”
The statement reiterated that ASAE’s role is to “enforce legislation that safeguards consumers against non-compliant legal practices” and “ensure fair market competition, including both food and non-food sectors.”
