The Ministry of Education announced a measure to ensure stability for professionals and schools by bolstering specialized support for students. The integration of 830 psychologists into permanent positions will increase the total to 1,655, ensuring that every school grouping or independent school has at least one psychologist on staff.
Currently, 182 schools lack a psychologist. After this recruitment process, the average ratio will be one psychologist per 711 students, compared to the current one per 1,472 students.
Regarding the 576 vacancies for speech therapists, social workers, or IT technicians, schools will determine the hiring profiles based on student numbers and identified needs.
Until the completion of the hiring process, 984 specialized technicians with temporary contracts, who have had at least three successive contracts or two renewals, will have their contracts renewed in September.
“Annual and full contracts can also be renewed,” the Ministry of Education added.
