The Minister of Infrastructure and Housing, Pinto Luz, clarified today that moderate rent ranges between 400 and 2,300 euros.
These amounts do not have municipal limits, a situation that was initially “considered,” but the government led by Luís Montenegro decided to forgo this to enhance transparency, explained Pinto Luz during a meeting with journalists in Lisbon.
The minister specified that this range allows all rents to be included, although he acknowledged that in the districts of Lisbon and Porto, rents exceed today’s known maximum.
These figures take into account a household with a monthly income of approximately 5,750 euros.
“We will have policies for all classes, from households that cannot pay anything to those that can pay something,” assured the minister, in a meeting also attended by the Secretary of State for Housing, Patrícia Gonçalves Costa.
The Government announced today a set of measures for residential leasing.
Specifically, regarding families with moderate rent, it determined that the tax deduction is 15% up to a maximum of 900 euros by 2026, increasing to 1,000 euros in 2027.
For property owners, a reduction in the IRS (Personal Income Tax) rate is planned, from 25% to 10% on leases of moderately rented residences.
