Government creates virtual Citizen Shop. It will have more than 100 services.

At a press conference following the meeting of the Council of Ministers in Lisbon, Gonçalo Matias announced the approval of a decree establishing rules for citizen service in Citizen Shops, including extended hours.

“The virtual Citizen Shop will be created as soon as this decree is published, which will happen shortly,” he added.

Services available will number “more than 100,” with gradual increases in “digitally available services until reaching 100% by 2030,” as outlined in the Digital National Strategy.

Certain Citizen Shops will operate with extended hours, a list of which “will be identified in an ordinance” authored by Matias, “in coordination with sectoral ministers.”

This list “will only be finalized” after evaluation by the services, Matias mentioned.

“I can already confirm that currently there are two shops with extended hours in Lisbon, and one each in Porto, Braga, Vila Nova de Gaia, Aveiro, Viseu, Coimbra, Odivelas, Setúbal, Faro, and Seixal,” he outlined.

“We are now working with the services to precisely identify the list, which will be released in due course,” the official concluded.
