The allocation of 20.53 million euros in funding will be gradually provided by the government to AIMA over a period of 36 months, distributed across four fiscal years, as part of existing and forthcoming sociocultural mediation protocols.
The directive, released today, highlights AIMA’s commitment to maintaining the 16 existing partnerships and forging new alliances with private entities to enhance migrant attraction, settlement, and integration, particularly in sociocultural mediation areas.
AIMA was established on October 29, 2023, following the dissolution of the High Commission for Immigration and the Foreigners and Borders Service.
Subsequently, responsibilities regarding the control and removal of foreigners were transferred to the newly formed National Unit for Foreigners and Borders under the PSP.
