Government program has “no innovative idea,” says Ventura

“The Government Program presented today in the Assembly of the Republic actually lacks any innovative idea guiding it,” wrote André Ventura in a post on the social network X.

The leader of Chega also noted a “lack of ambition and courage to change what has been wrong in the country for so many decades.”

“We need much more,” he added.

The program of the XXV Constitutional Government, emerging from the legislative elections of May 18 and won by the AD (PSD/CDS) coalition, was delivered today in the Assembly of the Republic by the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and will be debated on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The minister stated, after the delivery, that the measures outlined in the document are to be implemented over four years and aim to “truly transform the country.”

Carlos Abreu Amorim also assured that the Government will engage in dialogue with all parties and seek consensus to implement the program.

The document focuses on 10 priority areas, committing to “a policy of income that values work and savings, merit, and social justice,” state reform, or “creating wealth, accelerating the economy, and increasing added value.”

The other priorities identified by the Government include “regulated and humanistic immigration,” the functioning of public services “with quality,” an emphasis on “closer security, faster justice, and combating corruption,” housing, the construction of new infrastructures, the “water that unites” project, and a “strategic investment defense reinforcement plan.”
