During a parliamentary hearing on the detailed consideration of the State Budget proposal for 2026 (OE2026), Gonçalo Pires stated that “there is a priority from the Ministry of Justice to value these professionals”.
“There has already been a valorization from the perspective of career requalification, but it is also essential for us to continue the negotiation process towards a comprehensive review of the statutes,” said the Secretary of State, noting the Government’s objective to “have this process concluded by the end of the year.”
In February, the Government reached an agreement with the Judicial Staff Union (SFJ) and the Union of Judicial Officers (SOJ) to begin reviewing the statute of these professionals, awaited since 1999.
The integration of the process recovery supplement into salaries, the creation of a pool of paid overtime hours, and the simplification of professional categories were among the solutions agreed upon between the ministry and the representatives of judicial staff and judicial officers.
